Homeownership is as desirable for people with disabilities as it is for anyone else in America, yet it is estimated that less than one percent of Americans with disabilities are homeowners versus 66 percent of those without disabilities. Easter Seals Greater Houston is closing on 20-30 homes per year for individuals with disabilities who are low to moderate income and first time homebuyers.

Program Guidelines
- Meet income guidelines (below 80% Area Median Income)
- Complete a HUD-Certified Homebuyer's Education Class
- Have not owned a home in the last three years
- Be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
- Purchase home in Montgomery County (outside the city limits of Conroe)
- Maximum sales price as set by HUD of a pre-existing home is $217,000 and new home $243,000
- Debt-to-income Housing ratios 38/45%
- Qualify for a 30-year fixed-rate FHA, Conventional, USDA or VA loan with a lender of your choice
- Property built after 1978 and pass HQS inspection
- Subsidy covers down payment, closing costs & pre-paids, with no cash back to borrower at closing
